Our coffee

Espresso Beans

Coffees roasted for espresso: full body, soft acidity and notes of chocolate, nuts and caramel. Great on an espresso machine or moka pot, and strong enough to stand out in a cappuccino or flat white.

Espresso beans from Brazil

A good espresso bean gives a full body, low acidity and a sweet finish that holds up under pressure. Brazilian coffee is made for this: chocolate, nuts and caramel come through clearly in a shot, and stay present when you add milk. We roast our espresso coffees a little darker than our filter coffees, so they extract evenly on an espresso machine, a moka pot or a bean-to-cup machine.

For milk drinks or straight

Paulista Blend is our everyday espresso: almond, chocolate and red berries, bold enough for a cappuccino or flat white. Mistura Fina is a little lighter, with chocolate, roasted chestnut and red apple, lovely as a straight espresso or long black. Want to explore? Microlots such as Fazenda Nossa Senhora de Fátima bring dark chocolate and brown sugar to your cup.

Espresso beans for your bean-to-cup machine

Our espresso beans work well in bean-to-cup machines. Choose whole beans and set the grinder a little finer if your coffee runs too fast. For decaf espresso, choose our Swiss Water Decaf.

Buying espresso beans per kilo

Every espresso coffee comes in 250 g and most in 1 kg. Drinking several cups a day? The Paulista Blend 4 x 1 kg bundle brings the price down to €28.12 per kilo. Our espresso recipe helps you dial in dose, ratio and time.

Frequently asked questions

Good to know

What is the difference between espresso beans and other coffee beans?

Espresso beans are roasted a little darker for a fuller body and softer acidity, so they extract evenly under pressure. You can brew them as filter too; you will just taste more chocolate and less fruit.

Which espresso beans are best for a cappuccino?

Paulista Blend: its chocolate and almond notes stay clearly present in milk. Mistura Fina is a softer alternative.

Can I use these beans in a bean-to-cup machine?

Yes. Choose whole beans and adjust the grinder if needed. A finer grind gives a slower, fuller shot.
